Burmese focus on destruction of US $187 million worth of drugs on International Anti-Drug Day

On June 26, local time, Yangon, Myanmar, held a ceremony to burn drugs to commemorate the International Day for Drug Abuse. The law enforcement agencies on that day burned 187 million U.S. dollars worth of illegal drugs. The “Golden Triangle” is located in the border areas of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos in Southeast Asia. This area is rich in opium and other drugs. It is the world’s leading drug production base.
